Karin Roffman recently published the first biography of American poet John Ashbery, The Songs We Know Best: John Ashbery's Early Life. She is a senior lecturer in Humanities and English at Yale University. Willard Spiegelman is the Hughes Professor of English, Emeritus, at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and now a Stonington resident.
