Geri Doran’s first collection, Resin, received the Walt Whitman Award of the Academy of American Poets and was published by LSU Press. Her second, Sanderlings, a finalist for the Oregon Book Award in poetry, was published by Tupelo Press. She’s received a Stegner Fellowship, the Amy Lowell Poetry Travelling Scholarship—which took her to Portugal, Ireland, Hungary and Croatia—as well as fellowships, scholarships, and residencies from the Oregon Arts Commission, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Millay Colony for the Arts, and Vermont Studio Center. Geri teaches in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Oregon, lives in Eugene, and travels whenever possible.
She will be working on a new manuscript of poems while in residence at the Merrill House, one that dwells on place, wanderlust, and the mysteries of the known world.
